Reconnect with yourself

Do you ever feel that you are living your life but somehow lost contact with who you really are?

Do you ever wonder if you are doing what you truly love to do or that you are just hanging in there because…well, it seems ok enough?

Stop and listen….

It can be challenging to stop the train of daily occupation, and get out for a moment to connect again to your true self. To stop and listen to your own voice and what it has to say. Are you still doing what you want? Are you living the life you want, with people that support and inspire you? Is there something that keeps bothering you under the surface that you need to look into in order to clear the way to your happiness and freedom?

Living the life you want is not about changing yourself into a successful person. It is about connecting to who you are already and living your life according to your own truth.

“Those moments, when we open ourselves consciously to what we actually feel and long for, are very powerful. And perhaps that is what we know and fear deep down.”

The power of reflection

Reflection is not a popular asset in our culture. We have no time for it, it seems.

What if we suddenly realise that we are not on the right track? That we try to dance somebody else’s dance instead of finding our own, authentic expression? Then what?

From the perspective of being on the train, not really connecting with this source of inspiration, this can feel threatening. There is a certain comfort in moving on the automatic pilot. Why go through the trouble of changing things! Or perhaps disappointing other people! Or risk safety! And besides It is not that bad comparing to most people you know…

Getting off the train – once out, something else happens

Thing is, that once you do get out of the train for a moment, something else happens. Suddenly there is the support of fresh air, of a sudden silence. You feel your own presence, breathing and being alive. How could you have ever thought this was not important?!

And when you start to listen to your own heart, not only will you hear your own voice, but you will sense a beautiful richness that you seem to have forgotten. It is the thing you longed for all this time: simply being you. How wonderful to connect again!

Make an effort

To stop the train is to make an effort. It is creating a possibility to change patterns that keep you from genuine happiness and self-love. The train will not stop by itself, it needs your hand on the stop button. And it will require this effort again and again until you cannot stay away from your true self any longer, because the sheer happiness of being yourself has become too irresistible. No matter how challenging it can be at times!

Getting to know your voice

Outside of the train you may lose a sense of direction at first. There is no next station, no other travelers heading for the same platform. You are out in the open, and all you have is this decision to stop and listen. You may feel confused in the beginning: how does your true voice sound? Do you have one? Will it tell you what to do? Isn’t it selfish to spend time on yourself?

Just breathe. And keep listening. Don’t give up.

Your voice just may not be used to being listened to, so give it time to speak and come forward. In the end it always will.

How will I recognise my own voice?

You will know. Because what it will say will make you happy. That’s how you know. If you feel it will make others happy but not yourself, in particular, you are not listening to your own voice. So dig a little deeper until you feel that spark. Dare to make it a strictly personal voice!

“Now is the time to take a break and listen to yourself”

Trust your true colours

Now is the perfect moment to forget who you are supposed to be. To let go of expectations you think other people have of you. To become silent and give room to your authentic, natural being. Give it your love, your attention. Nurture it so it can bloom and grow stronger and become your natural guide in life. Trust your true colours, they are your most precious gift!
