A quick look at our new three week yoga program to train your body and your willpower!
Here in the Ekhart Yoga office we‘re getting ready for a little time off. Travelling around seeing friends and family, or taking the pace down is all wonderful. Then when January comes we want to get back into our routine and work off some of the holiday indulging!
Our January Yoga Willpower Workout program is designed to help us do just that. This program will train both your body and your willpower. With 3 weeks of yoga classes starting at 30 minutes a day building up to 60 minutes, we’ll help you get into positive shape and develop healthy habits.
Flex your willpower muscle
Your willpower is like a muscle, the more you train it the stronger it will get. It can take planning and effort but you will start feeling the psychological benefits: more focus and clarity, more positive outlook and more motivation to keep going. In this program we train our muscles and willpower on the yoga mat but the effects will be just as noticeable off the mat too. As a result you'll be able to make healthier, stronger choices in your daily life.
What to expect
Each week will include 5 active yoga classes and one Yin class to balance. You’ll have one rest day a week. Classes will be from Esther Ekhart with extra classes from Anat Geiger.
Week One: Saucha - Detox and clear space - 30-40 minute classes
- Week 1 is all about clearing the old and making space for the new. What can you let go of that is no longer serving you? When we clear space in our bodies and minds we can really invite the new in! Think lots of detoxifying poses, twists and flows plus a delicious yin session to revitalise your kidney chi making your mind feel vibrant, settled and clear.
Week Two: Tapas - Keep your fire burning - 40-50 minute classes
- Week 2 works on Tapas - that fire which comes from regular practice and the discipline that brings us freedom. This week’s classes are 40-50 minutes and will work on your core and strength with continuous flows and great all round practices. It tests and trains your willpower to keep up your practice but it’s so worth it! You’ll be getting stronger and you can begin to experience yoga with an effortless effort.
Week Three: Sukha - Experience good space - 50-60 minute classes
- Week 3 brings everything together. In this third and final week your classes will be 50-60 minutes with lots of Vinyasa Flows to work on your strength, flexibility and stamina. You need to plan ahead a little more for these longer classes but if this means setting your alarm clock a little earlier fear not, as these classes will give you lots of energy for the day ahead! By now your willpower muscle will develop rapidly and your healthy habits will be getting established. By the end of this program you will be really feeling the benefits of your regular yoga practice.
Who is this for?
This program is designed for people who have already started yoga and are looking for a new year’s challenge or a way to move from taking occasional classes to a regular practice. The classes are active so will help with strength, flexibility and fitness. They’re adaptable for different levels but if you are completely new to yoga we recommend Esther’s Hatha Yoga for Beginners program first so that you can learn the basics of key yoga poses and how to adapt them to suit your body and ability.
