These exercises are called the somatics and originate from Hana somatic education. I learned them during my Yoga Teacher Training. The somatics help to remind your brain to keep your body flexible and free from discomfort and pain! Very simple and incredibly effective exercise when in pain. The somatics work on releasing habitual holding patterns after shock or injury! It's a practice I keep going back to when in pain, discomfort or when my body and mind need to relax. I practice the somatics everyday till the injury or discomfort goes. When you memorize the exercises you can do this sequence in about 15/20 minutes. Also a great warm up for your yoga practice. cool down and to bring balance to body and mind! Your body will feel much lighter and free after.
