Shoulder sequence leading to Forearm Balance

A yoga flow to build a safe foundation for inverted postures and arm balances. Dynamic and with a strong emphasis on correct alignment, suitable for intermediate practitioners. We develop strength and balance on shoulders and arms and we incorporate the first steps to the more challenging pose Pincha Mayurasana. Using props at this stage can be vital to open up the body and to gain the confidence to move into the full posture. I suggest practicing shoulders strengthening postures regularly to open up and to avoid strains and tensions that could accumulate in the long term. This class is particularly suitable for those who have some fear or insecurity about being upside down, as the work on strengthening the upper body is important to practice Sirsasana (Head stand) and all the inverted postures.
