Personal for me, I prefer slow flows, so I can concentrate better on alignment and my breath.

Coming home

We all know those days where it feels as if we only live in our head – as if our bodies are just there to transport our heads from one place to the next. This class is designed to connect your head to your body again. To arrive in your body, to come home to your breath, your body, your self. Enjoy a short meditation and some soothing poses. Welcome home!

Just had lunch? A digestive sequence

Have you just eaten and want to support your digestion? Lunch or dinner… or even a big breakfast and not feeling up to a strenuous flow? Well… here we go! Starting in reclined butterfly for some calming and digesting… We will then go into a short flow to make space for your food to move through as well as digesting life itself on an emotional level. This would be a great starter class for first-time yogis and also for experienced practitioners who just want to digest :-)
Props: Bolster, 2 blocks, blanket.

Feel deeply into your body (Esther Revolutionise Your Yoga class 3)

Feel deeply into your body

Feel deeply into your body

In this class we slow everything down and fine tune our awareness of our body. We will repeat, of course, the principles we worked with before and add some chest openers and backbends. Back bends are not about bending back as far as possible, their function is to open the front body. This can be done softly and mindfully too. You get to enjoy the benefits of back bending while staying soft and balanced.

Slow and Low that is the Tempo

Slow and low, that is the tempo

Slow and low, that is the tempo

Inspired by the 80’s hip hop group Beastie Boys, this deep slow class is perfect after travelling, after a long day of work or even as a morning practice when you just want to keep things low and deep. This class begins with a 5-minute pose with a block on the forehead to help ‘drop the analysing mind’ and get into the feeling realm. Options and instructions are in the video so please feel free to take the block away if it causes any anxiety or restricts your breathing. We then move through some slow, deep hip opening poses that stay low to the ground with looooong slooooooow breathing. We finish by resting over a block to really let go.
* In the video, I said a 'Tribe Called Quest', but they were another amazing hip-hop group… oops!

Classic standing postures and slow flow

Looking at alignment principles for key standing postures: Virabhadrasana 1 (Warrior 1), Trikonasana (Triangle), Parsvakonasana (Extended Side Angle). A reminder of the work from the feet up, taking these alignment principles into a slow flow and incorporating Adho Mukha Svanasana (Downward Dog) for a smooth sequence. Ending with seated twists and balancing the practice with a mild inversion with Legs against Wall. A full practice particularly suitable for the morning, as it helps you to ease yourself into your body
