Deeply release and open the lower body

Letting go has to do with trust and feeling safe. Trust in yourself and thus life. When we are connected to the moment, we see that we are safe, when we see we are safe we can begin to let go, release and open. A Hatha yoga class that works on the lower body: hips, hamstrings, thighs, calves, glutes, tensor fascia latae, IT band etc. Enjoy targeting all those areas and feeling the deep release that comes from mindfully working your edges.

The power of surrender

The power of surrender

34:57

The power of surrender

Ishvara Pranidhana means bowing to a higher source. You basically offer what you do, in this case your practice of yoga, to something beyond you - a higher consciousness, the source, whatever you like to call it. Slow, mindful, strong at times practice that comes back to offering, surrendering and bowing to the life force that unites us all.

Movements to create a spacious body and mind

Movements to create a spacious body and mind

37:53

Movements to create a spacious body and mind

We start lying on the back, giving ourselves space to observe how we feel, what it is like to be us right now. On the back we warm up the spine, hips and legs and then we flow onto all fours and move, incorporating our core. From all fours we find our way to some lunges and standing postures and then down to the floor again for some seated hip openers and a Wheel pose. A bit of everything to give space, feel good and come back to ourselves.

We then move on to some standing poses which will feel so much more delicious due to the preparatory movements at the start of the class. Hips and Heart Flow

We open the hips to ground and because when we release tension from that area it creates so much space in our lives. To balance the grounding with lightness we work on the upper back/heart area. With a gentle warm up targeting upper body and hips into a flow with standing poses including Half Moon /Ardha Chandrasana pose. Enjoy the sweetness of the practice!!

Flow from stillness

Flow from stillness

69:24

Flow from stillness

We become still and balance the kidney and bladder energy to ground, to bring the energy down. Next we find the momentum to start moving while holding on to the centered feeling we have created. We work just enough on the upper body at the end to balance all the grounding with some lightness. Enjoyable class to balance the energies out and get everything going.

Please join me in my personal practice. I literally just feel what my body and mind need and move from there. This time it ended up to be a flowy and soft practice, leading into some gentle backbends to stimulate the flow of chi. It left me feeling absolutely wonderful! I hope it will do the same for you. Much love to you all...

Body prayer

We flow slowly and mindfully, but slow can mean it takes more attention and strength to do it. So not necessarily easy... Pray with your body and let the energy we create with the practice flow to someone, or a situation that we want to give it to.

The invitation is to dedicate this yoga practice to something or someone outside yourself. It takes the attention away from yourself and can take some of the pressure off the practice, it also helps to truly become absorbed in the work on the mat. Try it and see how it feels!
