Feel and enhance the chi in and around your body while you do specific movements with your fingers, arms, shoulders, back, ankles and toes. Opening up to the chi flow makes you aware of how everything is connected. After having moved the chi you continue with Yin poses to release tension in the back, legs, ankles and toes. This 30-minute sequence is great to give your whole body a chi boost in a short period of time. Everybody can benefit from this sequence - including postnatal women. Props: blanket, blocks, bolster and a pillow.

It is based on a sequence offered by Dr. Motoyama, a Shinto priest, who has done scientific research on chi, chakras and meridian pathways. This sequence is great if you sit in a chair all day or when you want to enhance the chi flow before doing either a Yin or Yang yoga practice. Props you might need are: a pillow and a blanket.

In this practice we hold the poses for 3 minutes each. On a physical level we work on spinal health. The urinary bladder lines run along the back of the legs and split into two lines running up each side of the spine. The kidney lines run along the inside of the legs into the groin. They combine in the sacrum before rising up inside the body along the line of the spine. Poses practiced are Butterfly Pose, Saddle Pose, Sphinx Pose or Cobra Pose, Half Dragonfly Pose, Seated Forward Bend, Savasana.
