We begin this strong flow with a reclined centring before upping the tempo with some core work and fun handstand hops. We then move into a lovely, hip opening sequence - including lunge twists, reverse Warrior, Trikonasana (triangle pose), Parsvakonasana (extended side angle pose) and Wild Thing - with some long holds to help us tap into our strength and expand our energy. Ending with pigeon pose variations, seated twists and calming, grounding forward folds.

A mix of classical and variations of Surya Namaskar. We warm up the spine, shoulders, hips and hamstrings first and then we get into a continuous flow of energizing Sun Salutations. Half Sun Salutations, Classical A+B, Lunges followed by a few different variations that will focus on your core, arm strength, hips and back. Props needed: something to slide on (e.g. a folded blanket for underneath the feet if on a wooden floor, or a couple of paper plates if on a carpet).

A quiet sitting time, a stimulation for the deeper abdominal region followed by Surya Namaskar. Sitting postures to open hamstrings and hips, and chest openers to finish. Open up to the joy of a new day, where you have no idea of what will happen or how things will go. A real treat for a grounding start of your day.

Note: This practice includes a headstand. If you have never practiced headstand before, please don't practice it in this class but in the presence of a live teacher first. You can practice Dolphin pose instead to build strength.
