This class is for anyone who regularly experiences back pain or wants to learn how to prevent it. I offer some tips for you to keep in mind when practicing yoga and during daily life. You’ll learn the theory of ‘bracing and spacing,’ along with some gentle and safe movements to strengthen the core to make bracing easier. We practice some ‘nerve flossing’ – also called nerve gliding or neural gliding – which is a type of gentle exercise that stretches irritated nerves. This can improve their range of motion and reduce pain. If your body reacts to these techniques with pain, please stop and find a therapist to guide you further. I hope this class helps support you.
