Try to practise every morning for 30 days. If you need to skip a day just start up again when you can, your classes will always be here for you when you return!

Days 7, 14, 21 and 28 are your rest days with gentle yoga, yoga nidra or meditation.

30 Mornings of Yoga starts off with 15 minute classes building up to 50 minutes with Esther on the final morning.

In this class you will learn to tone your leg muscles, soften your hip joints and keep the front, or East, of your upper body open. These actions will help you to move towards the more intense seated forward bend with ease and attention. With Utkatasana, Uttanasana, Adho Mukha Svanasana (Down Dog) Janu Sirsasana, and Paschimottanasana. You can keep two blocks handy for the standing forward bends.

A complete practice in 30 mins

With our busy day to day lives, it can be a challenge to fit our yoga practice in sometimes. With this in mind Andrew has put together a sequence that moves, articulates and energises the body, whilst also including elements of mindfulness, meditation and Pranayama. We begin flowing through some lunges twists and Downward Dog variations. The practice builds with Warrior 2, twisted lunges and forwards bends. We move through Chair pose, into a squat and then Crow pose, finishing with Boat and Cobbler's (Bound Angle) posture. Finally you are led gently through Tantric alternate nostril breathing.

We will finish with a short visualisation to set an intention for the day ahead and visualise what that day with that intention may look like. Not your everyday flow class! In this practice, you will move into all asana from Starfish pose. Feeling into your own "liquid" body and breath, you will flow in and out of poses using the flow and fluidity of energy. You will use your breath, movement and imagination to embody your inner starfish! With Virabhadrasana II, Parsvakonasana, Ardha Chandrasana, Prasarita Padottasana. Keep two blocks handy for this class.

Groundedness, solidity, firmness and from there expansion and freedom... This flow will connect you to the earth to find the stability and freedom to balance in poses like Tree pose, Standing hand to big toe pose, Warrior III pose and more. When you experience a day when you don't feel grounded (like me when I taught this class), practicing these poses aren't easy. You will likely fall over, but remember it's about the journey towards balance and not about only being able to do these poses when your balance is already great. So if you too want to practice balancing whilst feeling off kilter, join me in this class and let's fall over together :-)

Hurt, heartbreak and loss happen to all of us, no matter how much yoga we practice. Yoga and meditation provide the tools to deal with these challenges, not the permission to bypass them. We grow only that much stronger when we stop trying to avoid the challenges in life. In this mindful asana practice you’ll breathe deeply and watch whatever arises. Expect a tiny story and some sweet stretches that will help you to keep breathing when things seem to break apart in your life. As Leonard Cohen said: ‘There is a crack in everything. That’s how the light gets in.’

Stimulating Chi flow in the joints

In this short session you will do specific movements for all the joints of your body to enhance the chi flow, which get stagnated easily during the day. It is based on a sequence offered by Dr. Motoyama, a Shinto priest, who has done scientific research on chi, chakras and meridian pathways. This sequence is great if you sit in a chair all day or when you want to enhance the chi flow before doing either a Yin or Yang yoga practice. Props you might need are: a pillow and a blanket.

Day 26: Yoga with weights 4 with Jennilee - 35 minutes

Yoga with weights 4

1-2 kilos/1-5 lbs hand weights are useful for this class. However, bottles filled with water or cans of food will work too. You can also practise without weights - imagine you are holding some to create a little more resistance in your arms.

This class starts with a nice floor shoulder joint strengthening sequence before moving to seated upper body and core on all fours. A few moving lunges always feel good with the extra challenge of the weights! Ending with a yummy cool-down so you will feel whole and complete.

You made it to day 30! Well done for completing the programme. 

We finish with a continuous flow with Esther which starts and ends gently, but gets right down to business in between! We build strength in the legs, and core work is sprinkled through the sequence. A fun flow with Warrior II pose, Triangle pose and Half Moon pose. Strength work in Dolphin pose for the upper body balances all the leg and core work, leaving you to feel alive and vibrant! No coffee needed!
