Dieke and Esther have been practising partner acrobatics (together and apart) for over 10 years. They teach AcroYoga here on EkhartYoga.
They work particularly well together in AcroYoga because they can both fulfill the role of the base and the flyer. They have both developed a deep understanding of the technique and know how to integrate the qualities of strength and softness into the practice.
Exploring the body on all levels, anatomically and energetically, and finding the deeper meaning of body/mind/spirit connection has fascinated Dieke for as long as she can remember.
After becoming a professional movement therapist, Dieke started to explore more deeply the meaning of emotional, spiritual and psychological processes through studying meditation, counselling, Thai massage, AcroYoga, women’s work, yoga and nutrition.
Dieke’s main focus has been on Thai massage and AcroYoga, which she has been passionately sharing and teaching for many years throughout the Netherlands and Europe. It is a great blessing for Dieke to share her most loved practices blended in a form of yoga that involves partner work, massage and AcroYoga. This all with the goal to find deep fulfillment, personal growth and more awareness.
People often call Esther the Flying AcroYogi – because she flies around the world to explore, play, and teach AcroYoga: blending acrobatics, yoga and Thai massage into one playful practice.
Esther believes that everyone can fly. In her videos you learn to fly ‘professionally’; you’ll be given clear instructions and fun preparations so you will be able to base, fly and spot all moves safely and comfortably. All you need to be able to do is to breath and play! Her keywords for AcroYoga (and life in general) are: "Effortless, painless and smooth."
Esther, a certified Vinyasa teacher, has a background in Dutch Acrobatics and has been practising yoga for over 10 years. She has been practising Thai massage for over 5 years. Since 2011 Esther has developed special workshops for Parents & Kids AcroYoga in which people stretch, fly, meditate, massage and most of all play together.
