Indra and A.G. Mohan

Teacher: Indra and A.G. Mohan

"Yoga is an inner experience - a workIN within a workOUT"

The Mohans offer their teachings in India and internationally under the banner of Svastha Yoga & Ayurveda which advocates an integrated approach using yoga and Ayurveda to achieve the state of Svastha.

A.G. Mohan

A.G. Mohan was a personal student of Sri T. Krishnamacharya from 1971 to 1989. He was also the convener of Sri Krishnamacharya’s centenary celebrations in 1988.  He is the author of Yoga for Body, Breath, and Mind (1993) and the co-author, along with his wife, son and daughter, of Yoga Therapy (2004).

He has translated the Yoga Yajnavalkya, one of the most important classical texts on yoga. The details of his study are described by Sri Krishnamacharya himself in his personal foreword to Mohan’s book Yoga for Body, Breath, and Mind.

In his book, A.G. Mohan draws on his own memories and Krishnamacharya's diaries and recorded material, to present a fascinating view of the man and his teachings, and Mohan's own warm and inspiring relationship with the master.

For those not familiar to Krishnamacharya:  Krishnamacharya was a renowned Indian yoga master, Ayurvedic healer, and scholar who modernized yoga practice and whose students—including B.K.S. Iyengar, K. Pattabhi Jois, T.K.V. Desikachar, and Indra Devi—dramatically popularised yoga in the West.

Indra Mohan

Indra Mohan has been practicing and teaching yoga for more than three decades now. She is one of the few people who received a post-graduate diploma in yoga from Krishnamacharya. Known for her serene demeanor and her skill as a yoga therapist, she is a source of support and wisdom to her many personal students.

Together the couple travel the world to share their wisdom and knowledge in workshops and trainings.
