Deep relaxation for experienced asana practitioners - A practice for those already comfortable with inversions and with a greater range of flexibility in the knees and backs of the legs. This ‘advanced’ sequence is a powerful tool for dropping into the deepest spaces of your psyche with total awareness. We start relaxing from daily distractions with two reclined poses (Supta Baddha Konasana and Supta Virasana). We follow with several poses that have pressure on the top of the head (Supported Adho Mukha Svanasana Supported Uttanasana, Sirsasana)
After ‘neutralising’ the brain, we employ the chair for Viparita Karani, removing pressure from the S/I joint and then reversing the energy once again with Sarvangasana. Finally, the Supported Bridge releases any last tension to leave you in a state of peace… Shalom :) PROPS: bolster, blankets (2), blocks (4 or substitutes), belt, chair.
