Practice play: flexibility with strength

Tashi shares her personal favourites for developing functional flexibility. In order to move slowly we need to be quite strong and this session gives you an introduction to some exercises you might incorporate into your regular practice. We are likely interested in developing our capacity to live comfortably in our bodies into a ripe old age by practicing yoga and becoming overstretched will not do us any favours. As much as we might benefit from light and regular stretching, we only need a range of movement or flexibility that is functional. These exercises might cause cramping in the muscles at first, so go lightly and stop and release if you need to. Cramping will pass if you explore these exercises regularly.
