Meditation on Loving Kindness, Metta meditation

In Metta meditation, we direct Loving Kindness toward ourselves and then expand it towards somebody we love. Then to somebody we are neutral towards. Then to someone we have difficulty with. And ultimately toward all beings everywhere without distinction.
Loving Kindness meditation is helpful to support the practice of 'bare attention' and helps to keep the mind open and sweet. It provides the essential balance to support your insight meditation or mindfulness practice.
