Standing - Tadasana & Virabhadrasana. Mountain and hero pose, connecting with the upward and downward forces. Standing asanas are at the very base of yoga asanas. They provide the confidence and strength — physical and mental — needed to build a good and deepening practice. Standing asanas strengthen the legs and focus attention on the hip area: the foundation of the spinal cord.
