Olav Aarts, Ph.D., has more than 12 years' experience with Hatha Yoga and teaches in the Netherlands and abroad. He gives lectures on the origin and evolution of yoga traditions and Asian religions.
Trained by yogis in the Netherlands and India, he acquired proficiency in asana, pranayama, mudra and bandha, kriya and dhauti. At age 20, he began practicing vipassana meditation and has lived in monasteries in Burma and Nepal.
In addition to owning a Yoga studio, he has taught Hatha Yoga to future Yoga teachers at a training institute.

Olav worked as a sociologist of religion and a researcher in the department of sociology at Radboud University Nijmegen and has resided in the United Kingdom and Indonesia. Olav travels regularly to the Middle and Far East for retreats and schooling.
