Laia will take you through creative flows bringing in skills and techniques from her figure skating background along with traditional yoga practices.
During this program you will:
- Work on standing balance poses like Dancer’s pose, Tree pose, Warrior 3, Half-moon, Eagle, Standing splits, Hand to Big Toe pose. Plus you'll practice inversions like Headstand and Shoulderstand.
- Learn to combine the stability and ease required for balancing poses
- Improve your core strength and strengthen your stabilising muscles
- Build up your stamina and improve overall mobility with dynamic Vinyasa flows
Why standing balances?
Standing balance poses have lots of physical and psychological benefits. They strengthen the smaller stabilizing muscles in the body, helping us to maintain a healthy posture and prevent injuries. They’re great for our confidence and help us to cultivate focus and concentration too - try balancing in Tree pose when your mind is scattered…not easy!
The classes are around 30-40 minutes each. We recommend you take two weeks to complete the program - practice a class every other day.
Who is it for:
This is a level 2 program for EkhartYoga members. Level 2 classes are for the experienced, intermediate students who feel ready for a greater challenge in their yoga practice. This means fewer detailed instructions for more familiar poses. More advanced poses are introduced.
