electrolyte drink after yoga

Electrolytes are responsible for keeping the body hydrated, allowing the muscles and nerves to function properly.

When you exercise a lot, this is important! When we sweat, we are most likely to lose the sodium, potassium and chlorides, all electrolytes.

Lemon and honey drink

  • 4 cups warm water (if the water is too hot, it kills some of the honey’s health-giving properties)
  • Juice of 1 lemon or ¼ cup of lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • ¼ teaspoon rock or sea salt

Orange and honey drink

  • 5 cups water
  • ¼ teaspoon rock or sea salt
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ squeezed orange
  • 3 teaspoons honey

Mix well and drink after a yoga class or workout to stay energised.

Another great electrolyte drink is an organic coconut drink with no sugar added.
