1. Red beetroot and raw cacao nibs

This delicious ruby red smoothie is rich in iron from the beetroot and antioxidants from the cacao nibs. The added turmeric is anti-inflammatory.

  • 1 red beet (beetroot)
  • 1 banana
  • ½ tbsp. raw cacao nibs (high in antioxidants)
  • piece of ginger (I use 4 slices as I love ginger but adapt it for your taste)
  • ½ tsp. hemp seeds
  • ¼ tsp. cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp. turmeric
  • 1 ½ cup hazelnut milk

2. Green apple, pear and spinach smoothie

A glorious green smoothie, with iron-rich spinach, vitamin-packed apples and pears, turmeric and hemp seeds.

  • 1 handful spinach
  • 1 apple
  • 1 pear
  • piece of ginger
  • tsp. turmeric
  • tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 cup rice milk
  • hemp seeds for garnish

3. Naturally sweet and spicy fruit smoothie

An all-fruit smoothie with added kick. The cinnamon will help to stabilize your blood sugar.

  • 1 pear
  • 1 banana
  • ¼ tsp. cinnamon – important to add as it helps to stabilize your blood sugar
  • ¼ tsp. turmeric
  • ¼ tsp. ginger
  • ½ cup coconut water

4. Cooling cacao and mint smoothie

Ditch your mint choc chip ice cream for this healthy raw cacao and mint smoothie. With cucumber to naturally cool your body down.

  • a handful of fresh mint
  • 1 tbsp. raw cacao nibs
  • ¼ cucumber
  • 1 cup almond milk

5. Red berry and chia seed smoothie 

A superfood smoothie or pudding. Red berries are packed with antioxidants and vitamins. Chia seeds contain lots of healthy omega-3 fatty acids, protein and fibre.

  •  red beet
  • 1 cup berries of your choice (raspberries / strawberries / blackberries or a mix)
  • ¼ cup goji berries
  • 1 tbsp. chia seeds
  • ¼ tsp. cardamom
  • 1 ½ cup coconut water
  • optional: maca & lucuma

6. Post-yoga green smoothie  

A deliciously creamy, filling, tasty and green smoothie with avocado, green leafy vegetables and soaked cashew nuts. Perfect for after a strong yoga class or a workout. The leafy greens are a good source of vitamin C, folic acid, potassium and magnesium.

  • 1 stalk of celery
  • handful green leafy vegetables
  • ½ avocado
  • ½ banana
  • ¼ cup soaked raw cashews (soak for at least two hours)
  • ¼ tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 cup coconut water

7. Chunky monkey smoothie

A truly delicious dessert-like smoothie with banana, walnuts and cacao nibs. Try freezing it for a vegan ice-cream alternative.

  • 1 banana
  • ¼ cup walnuts
  • ¼ cup cacao nibs
  • ¼ tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • optional: maca & lucuma powder
