Anna Levin

Anna is a Pilates and yoga teacher who loves to teach with a lightness and a sense of humour, as well as flow and athleticism. Like yoga, Pilates is about finding your mental and physical center through movement, alignment and breath.

She was first introduced to Pilates when she was in a dance programme and injured her back. She used Pilates to rehabilitate herself in order to continue her modern dance career.

Anna first tried yoga at the Chicago Yoga Center in 1998. After moving to Amsterdam, she completed the Svaha yoga teacher training with Patrick and Gösta at Svaha Yoga in 2008. She continues her education with ongoing workshops with Pilates and yoga professionals in Amsterdam, Toronto and London.

Anna finds that Pilates complements her yoga practice as it seeks to balance the body through uniform development: meaning equal flexibility and strength throughout the body. Like yoga, Pilates is about finding your mental and physical center through movement, alignment and breath. Creating a stable, supported core and supported mobility in your joints from working from the inside out.

When Anna practices yoga, she often brings her Pilates to support the mobility in her joints and keep her stable in various poses. She is the Assistant Director of the Smartbody Pilates teacher training in Amsterdam and teaches Pilates and yoga at various locations in the Netherlands.

Change happens through movement and movement heals.” ~ Joseph Pilates.
